People using these two drugs have been at each others throats since the younger one, Cialis came to the market in 2003. Each of these two groups have their own reason for supporting its favorite ED drug. Both of them have their own advantages and disadvantages and I believe that you should know what they are before you make any final decision.
Like I already mentioned, Cialis is the younger one of the two. By whole 5 or so years. Viagra first appeared on the market in 1998 and Cialis in 2003. Five years may not sound like a lot to some, but it was definitely enough time for the company that created Cialis to make a good market research on what the users need and to avoid making the mistakes that Pfizer (company that makes Viagra) already made.
These drugs both work in the same matter. A person suffering from erectile dysfunction (some people like to call this impotence) has to orally consume the pill before he (only he can take ED pills) can engage in sexual intercourse. The pill then blocks the chemical called PDE5, which is responsible for your problem as it doesn’t allow blood to get to the penis. Once that problem is solved, thanks to one of these pills, you can achieve and maintain an erection
So the mechanism of action for both of these pills is exactly the same. The first thing they are different at is how fast they work. While you can probably find a number of different “test results” all over the Internet on how much Cialis or Viagra last, in general, when it comes to Cialis, your doctor will recommend that you consume it 30 minutes before sexual intercourse, while in the case of Viagra this time can be as much as 60 minutes (although it is more often 45 minutes).
In case of both of these drugs, around 80% of people who are taking them have reported that it was successful at allowing them to achieve an erection. The big difference is for how long these two drugs were able the do that. In case of Viagra, a person could get an erection and engage in sexual intercourse in the next 4-6 hours after consuming it, which is okay, I guess. However, in case of Cialis, this time can go as high as 36 hours!
I used Viagra for a while before I switched to Cialis. Don’t get me wrong, I still think that Viagra is a very good erectile dysfunction drug and that it does an excellent job, but it is inferior to Cialis in a lot of ways. I am not saying “use this one or that one”, that is up to you to decide and I have nothing to gain or lose one way or the other, but I definitely know why I am preferring Cialis and not Viagra. My advice try them both and choose the one that works better.
